"Catching up" represents that feeling of dissatisfaction with our current state of affairs, when we realize how far off the mark of perfection we truly are. For me the only solution is the Serenity Prayer, which can be practiced in many versions. The most powerful version, the ultimate Serenity Prayer, is to be thankful that everything in your life has worked out exactly the way it has, that you are glad you feel terrible and dissatisfied and that is where you need to be. For me this approach can be liberating, because it allows you to dump the detritus, the yoke of the past so that you can plan for the future and live in the moment. Most people seem to disagree with me that ultimately tragedies can be blessings paradoxically and we should be glad that they happened.
